There's no stat for it (that I'm aware of, but I'm sure some stathead has come up with one), but Devito collapsed the pocket constantly from his 3-4 end spot and even when he slid over to NT for passing downs. He's a lunch pail guy and I love the fact that he's progressed to the point that he has. Rex will maximize the kid's abilities and he should be a very solid player for us for a while. When he was cut, he went to B.C. So, Rex knows him and may know how he would use him. He's not big enough for the DL (6-2, 245 lbs.), so he may project to the WILL/DE pass rush hybrid role that the Jets are sorely lacking. It looks like he moved around in the CFL from right to left and has good sideline-to-sideline speed. He also is too light for 4-3 DE, so I'm wondering what he would project to in the 4-3? In the NFL, he would be overpowered at the LOS by guards and tackles who would, on average, outweigh him by 50 lbs. It looks like he can't play with his hand on the ground in the NFL. This kid is over-hyped. He wasn't a league all-star (although he was probably snubbed). He was the top "Canadian" in the CFL and not the top player in the CFL. That's an important distinction!
