As the Jets journey towards the draft in April, we here at TJB will be taking a look into prospects that could be on the Jets draft board. Today we will be taking a look at: Buffalo product, Naaman Roosevelt [via Jon P & Harry H]

Projected Round: 6th Round
Measurables: Stands at 6’0. Weighs in at 190 lbs.
Positives: Roosevelt has good hands that can be reliable. He can be quick, get seperation and can be elusive with the ball. During his time at Buffalo he was very productive although the loss of Drew Willy did hurt his production. He is a very intelligent player and has special teams potential.
Negatives: He catches too many passes with his body and his blocking skills leave a lot to be desired. He can lose concentration at times and he could stand to bulk his frame up.
The Bottom Line: Roosevelt didn’t have a stellar showing at the Senior Bowl and he hasn’t received an invite to the Combine either. In spite of this he does have talent and in my opinion Roosevelt could be a late round sleeper that would be able fill the Jets vacant slot position.
Roosevelt Highlights:
I apologize for the lack of footage on Roosevelt however I was able to find this amazing play that shows just how good Roosevelt can be.

That was a nice catch.
E.Weeks- Maybe you could look at some late round running backs now that TJ is gone this may be something we will go for. If we dont pickup a veteran of course.
pretty sweet catch. guy seems athletic as hell…however isn’t clowney very similar?
5-10, 185lb Clemson WR Jacoby Ford is impressing today at the combine having posted sub-4.3 second 40 times and looking explosive and fluid in receiving drills.

As a UB alum I’ve seen Roosevelt play for 3 years. He was one of my favorite players on the team. He was a good return man and thats where I feel he would provide the most value for the Jets. I’m not sure his success at receiver in the MAC Conference would translate to the NFL at his size. But I do think he would be a good addition to our special teams.
Wow, didn’t think we’d see Roosevelt get some love. I’m a soon-to-be alum of UB, and I watched him play the past four years. I’m telling you, Roosevelt and RB James Starks also out of UB are going to be flat-out STEALS later in the draft.
Roosevelt in 2008 was one of the best 10 WR in the country, and I firmly believe that. He had a down year the past year with a new QB who came in, sucked, pouted and then quit school. (Thanks Zach)
I think the Jets don’t necessarily need Roosevelt, I think they look more into Starks, who was an elite RB recruit, one of the best backs in the nation who’s at the combine today after missing his senior season with a shoulder injury. Mel Kiper Jr said last year that Starks was the fourth best senior RB and a 2nd rounder, before his injury.
Also, I’ll never get tired of seeing this play. We won this game as time expired, Roosevelt basically boxed out three defenders like a basketball rebounder and we stormed the field. We also won the MAC championship this season, Roosevelt had three touchdowns and over 100 yards against undefeated #12 ball state in the championship game.
he sounds perfect too me . you can teach a guy to block . Great late rounder
