    I didn’t think he he would sign Joey Porter. Tannenbaum’s nothing if not methodical. I just wish he would get some sleep once and a while.

    Maybe Woody J. just wants to stay out of the spotlight for a while.

    I’ve been saying it for awhile. We had no chance of getting Porter. I’m pretty sure that the only reason he “visited” the Redskins was to drive the price up. Arizona made too much sense.

    Well with Porter gone, now we must draft OLB/pass rusher- preferably first round if Graham or Jerry Hughes is available. I dont think Graham will be there- most have him going around pick 20 now, but i think Hughes might be there and some think he is better than Graham, more natural fit for the 3-4 defense! Hughes ran a 4.59 at the combine!

    Hughes scouting report from nfldraftgeek :

    Pros:
    * Perfect size for a 3-4 rush linebacker
    * Extremely fast, great acceleration, quick
    * Explosive burst off the line, great first step
    * Very productive in college, 26.5 sacks the most of any player the past 2 seasons
    * Great pad level, speed and lower body strength allow him to get around the around the pocket quickly
    * Good hands and comfortable in coverage
    * Non stop motor, plays with high intensity and ferocity, never takes plays off
    * Underrated pass rushing moves, great spin move
    * Good character, hard worker on and off the field, high football IQ

    Cons:
    * Struggles against the run
    * Gets overpowered, and driven back when engaged by bigger lineman
    * Needs to get stronger

    Overall: Jerry Hughes seems to be the most underrated prospect in this years draft, he is in our eyes is the best Pass Rusher in the draft, but not rated nearly as highly by most. His biggest asset is his speed, he is the fastest pass rushing prospect in the draft, and is an absolute terror around the edge. Technically, he is the most NFL ready, he plays with great pad level, a high football IQ, uses his hands and long arms well, quick feet, and has a natural ability to sack the Quarterback. The reason he is rated so much lower on other websites and “experts” boards, is that he struggles against the run and is not all that strong. Those are legitimate criticisms, but his specific skill set is exactly why we like him so much. His skill set is perfect for a 3-4 defense, where he can focus on using his speed and athletic ability to get after the quarterback. There is no doubt from anybody that he has been the best pass rusher the past 2 years in college, and if correctly slotted into a 3-4 rush linebacker he absolutely will be able to continue his pace and be an elite pass rusher in the Pros. He is also a coaches dream when you add in his physicality, effort, intensity, and smarts. Comparable to Cowboys DE/OLB Demarcus Ware.

    I like Hughes, but I don’t think he is a better fit than Graham. Graham is an absolute monster against the run, and is a great pass rusher as well. Hughes is a very good speed rusher, but Graham has the strength to overpower lineman and the speed to get around them. He is much more versatile, which makes him a better pick. If Graham isn’t available though, I would be very happy with Hughes. I’m just a little more hesitant with him then with Graham, because last time we drafted a “sack specialist” it really didn’t turn out too well.

    In two games against the Jets I couldn’t tell Porter was on the field.

    BTW, Rackers stinks.

    If the Jets want to distance themselves from the Mangini era, getting rid of Brian Schottenheimer would be the best move of the off-season. Then, we could see our offense really take off. Schotty is ****ty.

    On the Woody thing, the only thing that occurred to me… this line: “LaDainian is pretty much a household name — a long name, but a household name,” he said playfully.
    In this era of political correctness, someone *could* interpret it with racial overtones.
    Hey… I tried ;)

    Harvlis , well stated. Schotty is a piece of S#$% when it comes to calling a game. Hope Callahan replaces him before the season, then and only then will I believe we are super bowl bound.

    GO JETS!!!!!!

    damm graham sounds great him falling to 29 is rough tho…with a lockout looming in 2011 it will be hard to package 2011 picks to move up in this draft and we only have 5 picks this year….im just hoping either graham hughes or kindle will be there at 29 for us i think either one of those guys would fit in our d

    Rusty – We have six picks now, after having traded Rhodes. (1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7).
