Link: Did the Jets’ Website Just Flip Flop … Again?

by Bassett on March 21st, 2010 at 11:44 am

Two days ago, JetNation.com noticed that the Jets’ website article on Woody Johnson putting the coin flip behind him was pulled from the website. It seemed odd, but in the wake of all the kerfufflel around the coin flip, maybe not so much.

Today, it seems, the situation just got a little weirder, as the team republished the offending article, but under a new title. Maybe their are minor changes, but a quick scan (not thorough) makes us think it’s just a re-post.

What’s going on over there? There’s now more questions than answers. Did the front office ask the journos to take it down in the first place? Did the front office then realize (or be made to realize) they’re undermining their reporters at every turn? This story just seems to drag on and on … and ownership is doing little to stop it.

Occam’s razor much? Or maybe they had problem with their release management or a glitch in their content management software…

The only thing that’s different is the title.

Well, Gary Myers is speculating that this whole “coin flip kerfuffle” could cost the Slinky the 2014 Superbowl bid, which in turn will cost them so much money that it will become known as “Woody’s billion dollar blunder”, so while it might seem like a non-issue (and probably is) some people are making a big deal out of this.
