I wonder what kind of damage Mike T. can do with 6 picks? By damage use all those picks, and in the end get 3 players, but they will probably be players who are great.

  2. avatar sunsetmusic says:

Yeah, you know that there is no way we stay with what we have….it will be funny to compare slots pre-draft and post…in Tanny we trust…

  3. avatar john l says:

trade the six for twelve and hope we get two starters i say

  4. avatar JEFFDOLFINI says:

I like that pick in the middle of the fourth round. I like Leon alot, but I think in the end, we are going to get a 3rd round pick for Leon and then have a full draft to work with. On the agenda at that point would be pass rusher, safety, running back, nickel corner, and line depth on both sides with 5-7.

  5. avatar JetMetVet says:

It wouldn’t kill me if the Jets decided to trade back a bit, to pick up some more depth guys, rather than reaching for Gholston type selections. I have faith in our scouts to grab some under the radar studs. We’re already in pretty good shape and are going to be spending alot on our contracts for our core guys.

Lets fill in the depth spots with some cheaper alternatives that fit the Rex system. This aint a sprint, its a marathon. Well, kinda.. I want to kick some Patriot butt for years to come…

  6. avatar LamJones says:

I’d move back a few slots from either of our first two picks. We need some depth and this is supposedly a deep draft.

  7. avatar Andy says:

Well if I had to place a bet. It would be safe to say that these will be changing. Based on his history in past drafts of course. But I think we need to get a pass rusher first and foremost. With the addition of Cromarti (probably killed the spelling), the need for a CB falls a bit. Then a WR. But I think keep the 1rst round and if want to trade down for more picks, I’m cool with that.

  8. avatar J-Kay says:

Was not aware of that 5th rounder

  9. avatar BigKatt wants a ring says:

I hope we get an offer for Leon, someone with a pick right middle of round two might be willing to make the swap. the Chargers, Broncos, 49ers, Steelers, Bengals, Eagles, Packers, Cardinals and Seahawks could all use Leon.

  10. avatar AKA....Drew says:

Just enough ammo for Mr T to go get an impact player in round 1. He is going up again….just watch!

  11. avatar JetMetVet says:

I would keep the “Browns” pick schedule handy, as well. If Tanny sees an opportunity, they may be our first phone call as the rounds progress..

  12. avatar Revis Christ says:

lol i agree that the jets front office has the browns on speed dial… lol it might be harder now with holmgrem lol we might have to give up somone who actually matters lol prob not

  13. avatar neauone says:

Were in a position where we don’t have to move up, and from watching past drafts quality players drop. Many a team will pick a player and the experts will say HUH? I expect the Jets to stay put or in the later rounds to draft up or down and pick up more players. But I don’t see them moving up. If they were at 15 than I would say they could move up. But not this year.

  14. avatar ED says:

We made our splash last year. We make our first pick, then trade down a little, maybe pick up an extra 4th and fifth (6th?) for our two.

  15. avatar clint says:

I would like to see us and browns make a deal if Eric Berry was still on the board.

  16. avatar Harvlis says:

You know Mr T does not sit back, on draft day. We might give up some draft picks but, with our first pick, he will get us a star.

They are saying that B Marshall could be had for a second and a fourth. I know he is a nightmare human being but, he would be a dream target for Sanchez. He is 26 and getting better. If a second and a fourth gets you one of the top five receivers in the NFL – you sign on the dotted line. I know alot of you hate him but, many of you would have taken Plaxico in a heartbeat and he now lives in jail.

  17. avatar JetMetVet says:

Maybe we can get Tanny on the phone with the judge that put Burress away… Get him a nice PSL spot down low… We’ll put him on Supervised “Rexlease” for a few years instead of jail time.. Oh, and he plays for free..

  18. avatar Jets-Fan-4-Life says:

I’m sure Trader Mike will make moves, but one might include Leon, Kellen, and Batman!

  19. avatar jlb0183 says:

We should trade our 1st rd pick for more picks, reason is that u have Revis, Mangold, Brick contracts coming up soon, we can’t afford a 1st pick to take money from any of those guys, that’s our foundation

  20. avatar clint says:

Leon, E. Smith and our first rounder for browns first pick if E. Berry was still on the board, would that be fair?

  21. avatar BigKatt wants a ring says:

Clint that sounds awesome to me. I think it’s pretty fair, we’d cleary get the better half of the trade though.

  22. avatar AKA....Drew says:

    come on guys…fair trade?

A guy with a broken leg, a backup safety and the browns trade spots with us from 7 to 29?

If we want to move up the #7 its going to take 1,2 plus a late pick….. Holmgren is not falling for the trick Mt T played on Mangini in the Sanchez trade

  23. avatar Green Lantern says:

Im with AKA, that would of worked with Mangini last year though.

  24. avatar clint says:

yeah they traded brady quinn for a 6th round pick and a full back though it wouldnt take too much more to make it fair.

  25. avatar Green Lantern says:

Please dont bring up Eric Berry though Clint….I may go Berry Crazy again, i came to terms that he wasn’t coming a day ago.

  26. avatar clint says:

Haha sorry I just started watching some of his game tape and started thinking about how he would in Rex’s system. I guess I will just have to trust Mike and Rex and wait patiently and hope for the best.

  27. avatar JetMetVet says:

    Berry niiiice! I likkkke!

  28. avatar War Machine says:

Leon wil be used in a trade UP. WATCH!!!

  29. avatar War Machine says:

oh ya trade B Thomas too BTW…

  30. avatar Green Lantern says:

He would…He can do EVERYTHING. Blitz. Hit Hard, Cover, Has Great Ball Skills, Is Crazy Fast….

IDK man Revis, Cromartie and Berry would be the Best Secondary Ever.

  31. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

    AKA Drew

Dont tell Hank that Mr T robbed Mangini!!!!

That 4 win season is proof positive the Browns made out after the Jets merely came within 30 mins of a Super Bowl

  32. avatar Bill D says:

Is Mike T going to do anything with the Notre Dame Offensive linemen who worked out yesterday? That 3rd lineman Duncan had a 20yd shuttle time better than some LBs and RBs…and he’s like 6’7″ 310 lbs.

  33. avatar bubbybrister/shovelpass says:

Eddie – LMAO at Hanks expense…!!

  34. avatar trevor says:

i know this sounds crazy but stuckey anyone? perfect young slot receiver who was really coming along as a player. i bet tanny could wrestle him away for a decent price

  35. avatar Rolive says:

I’ll always love stuckey…and he’s better than clowney

  36. avatar rusty sanchez says:

cuz of las years draft mangini is probably not allowed by the phone this year

  37. avatar War Machine says:

Hell yea. Bent get on the phone tell the Blues i mean Browns we want the Stuck Man back. Maybe we can trade em Clowney and my Artheritis pills…DING

  38. avatar War Machine says:

    Or a 2013 6th rd pick

  39. avatar jet says:

im lovin the 4th round pick…we picked up some good players in that round in the past years (Rhodes, Cotchery, Washington)

  40. avatar Daniel says:

That’s something I hadn’t thought about. I actually really like the idea of bringing back Take A Chansi On Stuckey for the slot. He was really turning into a decent secondary option.

  41. avatar HOZ THE JET says:

what is stuckey status? is he tendered restricted or what?

  42. avatar Bent says:

Hoz – he has a year left on his contract. May even be available via trade because he kind of fell out of favor at the end of last season.

Buyer beware though – he was awful last season in Cleveland. That could well just be that he joined a bad team and lost motivation or whatever, but maybe he isn’t cut out for a full time role.

I do like Stuckey and think he’s a perfect potential slot WR, so I’d be on board with signing him.

  43. avatar BigKatFan says:

we have six picks. this time, we better get SIX players.

  44. avatar brian311 says:

anyone know how many the pats have? must be at least 10

  45. avatar Lance Mehl says:

I’ve said it the minute the season ended .. trade down and get more picks and depth ..

  46. avatar Max says:

I believe due to the uncertainty of the 2011-2012 season many teams may not take future draft picks as compensation. Therefore, since this is supposed to be a “deep” draft I hope the Jets draft down to get more picks. Get 8-10 players into camp and hopefully (since I trust our scouting) we will find one, two or three “gems”. In Tanny/Rex we trust…..

  47. avatar dakar says:

since its a very deep draft i wouldnt be surprised if tanny makes a trade here and there and came away with 4 players and then was at the door steps of many undrafted players ready to sign them up…i mean there are at least 50 solid players at each position coming out this year because of the uncertainty of next years holdout…and if there will be a rookie cap in the next draft…
