Film Room: Jets-HBO Announcement

by Bassett on March 25th, 2010 at 1:27 pm

Here’s video from the formal Jets-HBO Hard Knocks announcement. What a shocker that Steve Sabol would get a little cheeky!

Big ups to the guys at SNY who got this to us so fast!

Rex is just the best!!! He proves it once again and the entire nation will get to see him in action now.

  2. avatar james says:

I am so excited about this. I don’t have HBO though and will probably have to cook dinner for a stranger in order to watch it at their place.

  3. avatar X says:

Holy Shurt did Braylon catch that ball?

  4. avatar Neville says:

This is great news especially since Bart Scott has already commented that some youngins might pose for the camera a bit and that ain’t happening! It is our own five week weekly recap of training camp. I’m bustin’ Jerry, bustin’!!
    And Rex looks thinner… awesome.

  5. avatar JETS4LIFE says:

I don’t know about you guys but I am soooo psyched and after hearing Rex talk i want to run through a brick wall for the man.

  6. avatar Dylan says:

The Jets are going to make at least one significant move in free agency. There is no other reason why they would let Douglas and Feely walk. Maybe they are planning to try and go after a guy like Sharper. They probably couldn’t do so without Feely signing with another team. He will probably make at least 1.5 mil.

It’s hilarious some people think this is a bad idea. This is amazing. I can’t waaaaaaaaait till august 11th!!!

  8. avatar reality jet fan says:

Bart Scott thinks its a bad idea. But what does he know.

  9. avatar CWPOST1993 says:

JET4LIFE – You hit it on the nose !! He ( Rex) makes me wanna strap up and sack someone. This is going to be great !

  10. avatar frustratedjetfan says:

I like it as long as the team doesn’t lose focus. Remember that Kerry Rhodes changed once he discovered the camera.

The Jets have a very tough schedule this year. I want exposure, but I want the Super Bowl more.

  11. avatar LWsquad says:

Sexy Rexy gets lap band surgery, the JETS will be on HBO……Hmmm I wonder how long Rex knew this was gonna go down?
BTW, this will be un-frickin-believable. Even if it’s the most boring (which I highly doubt) show on television…..just the idea of seeing our team behind the scenes is amazing. NYJ will be on HBO, opening MNF, T-Giving, and hopefully at the finale. What a year this is going to be!!! J-E-T-S!!!!!!

  12. avatar reality jet fan says:

It probably wont hurt there chances for a superbowl but there is no way it could help so why bother.

  13. avatar BigKatt wants a ring says:

Haaahaha RJF why do you always have to be the downer on this site?

Bart is “concerned” that the cameras will create a forced environment. And to answer your question, Bart Scott knows nothing about what it’s like to be on Hard Knocks. Rex, on the other hand, does and if he thinks it’s “going to be a great opportunity”, why should us fans think it is a bad idea?

You can bring up records of other teams that have been on the show, but that’s a pretty bad argument seeing as how we are not those teams. Will it take the players attentions off the game? I highly doubt that while the players are going through the drills and working hard in camp, the first thing in their minds are the cameras and HBO. I’m pretty sure the first thing in everyones mind is to win the superbowl this year. That’s the main focus, preparing for an amazing season, not looking good on camera. Rex wouldn’t allow that.

All this is going to do is give us fans some awesome insight to our team, to get to know our players and coaches better, to actually see them in august working hard towards our goal of winning it all in february. This is one of the best things that has happened for this franchise in a while, i don’t see how anyone could say it’s a bad thing.

  14. avatar BigJets says:

Man u gotta love Rex’s confidence..he makes me wanna suit up and play for him lol

Im excited about this opportunity for the Jets to step out of that “Little Brother” to the Giants role..we never get any of the spotlight

this is great for the fans also to see their fav jets players in action, mine is Revis!

  15. avatar Jets-Fan-4-Life says:

I love it when Coach Ryan talks about the Super Bowl!!!

Makes me want to sack someone too…now where is my wife??

    …..WHAM!!!

  16. avatar Daniel says:

Jim Rome is making me even more pumped for this!

  17. avatar reality jet fan says:

I didnt bring up records. I just thought this would make sense after they get the superbowl.

  18. avatar dmazz says:

Rex is already my favorite Jets coach of all time.

  19. avatar richardtodd says:

I think they need to go back to Cortland without the cameras and focus on the task at hand! Getting back to the AFC Championship game, and playing the game at HOME!! Maybe they should ask HBO for game tape on how Peyton Manning crucified the defense..this is the Jets we are talking about!!! Lets stay focus, let HBO go film the Dolphins or Bills!

  20. avatar reality jet fan says:

richardtodd, Dont start making sense noone likes that around here. I COULDNT AGREE MORE!

  21. avatar BigKatt wants a ring says:

Couldn’t disagree more. You think that the guys on our will be more focused on the cameras then on getting to the superbowl this year? Do you think Rex would allow that to happen? “Maybe they should ask HBO for game tape on how Peyton Manning crucified the defense..this is the Jets we are talking about!!!” is one of the dumbest comments i’ve read on this site. The reason Peyton beat us is because Strick went down and Lito and Lowery both suck, and that Shonny also got hurt. They went to a 3 wide spread and made Lowery and Sheppard look like retards.

WHY WOULD THIS SHOW MAKE THEM LESS FOCUSED ON WINNING THE SUPERBOWL????? I do not understand your logic. This show films the preseason btw. The preseason. It’s not going to affect anything we do in the regular season, is it? No, it’s not.

  22. avatar Vin R says:

How are they going to shoot 25 hours a day?

  23. avatar JG in Mass says:

here I cant wait for the start of summer. NOW I CANT WAIT TILL THE END!!!

  24. avatar Ben Nevis says:

Here’s what a piece in today’s NYT says about the choice to do the show, and the risk of doing the show:

    ______________________________________

Ryan helped sell Tannenbaum on the idea because the Ravens had participated in the series when Ryan was an assistant coach in Baltimore. It had not caused the Ravens much harm, Ryan said, though he later said that he had not watched the show.

“An ordinary practice on Wednesday afternoon, it’s not mundane any more,” Tannenbaum said.

Would that be a problem? Would the Jets leak information about players and schemes that opponents might latch onto for future use? Ryan shrugged it off. Giving away a play or a coverage, Ryan said, would not be included in the final version of the show.

Q : How are they going to shoot 25 hours a day?
