    Superb stuff…….music sucks however.

  2. avatar nyckage says:

The sad thing is, Next year QB’s are still gonna throw to this guy, because, Revis is gonna crazy glue himself to the Number 1 Receiver, they feel they have to involve their # 1 guy in the game plan, such poor fools.

  3. avatar Brendan says:

Revis is such an exceptional talent I can’t wait until the day I have kids, point a middle-aged Revis and tell them “that guy…that guy right there….he was one of the best to ever play the game”

  4. avatar james2point-0 says:

well instead of showing the same play 3X in a row…how bout showing all the sick ass plays he had last year, cuz they may all not have been interceptions, but there was some really sweet plays ….and put some better music to it helps to

  5. avatar BoCash says:

Darth Revis, this man has the force.

  6. avatar firstdown77 says:

I get PUMPED up watching revis highlights.

  7. avatar Pdubbs says:

You can’t throw on this team.

  8. avatar Zartan says:

That over the top grab he does, is a trademark. Hope we can keep him forever.

  9. avatar madbacker12 says:

    just imagine revis,cromartie, wilson.

  10. avatar Brendan says:

I just imagined all over my sheets.

  11. avatar Randy says:

The catch he has against Miami gets to me everytime…

    WHAT AN AMAZNG CATCH!!!

The receiver knew he had no shot at catching the ball and tried to prevent Revis from catching the ball even with the Offensive pass interference….AND STILL Revis used 1 hand and makes an unbelievable catch.

  12. avatar sexy rexy says:

wow Revis owned Steve Smith. He made him look like a little kid.

  13. avatar dakar says:

i dont want to sound greedy or in fact be greedy…but i would love if revis has a lenghty 20 year career like D.GREENE did for washington redskins…and all of them being as productive as last years or better…lolol…
just saying…this guy is truely blessed with god given talent…

  14. avatar Revis Christ says:

can someone tell me why this guy didnt win the defensive player of the year…. also i only thought humans were allowed to play in the nfl

  15. avatar JUSTWIN says:

I have feeling it’s gonna be tough keeping the offense off of the field this year. We should have a ton of turnovers.

  16. avatar Tim says:

Everyone should mute the music on this and play something good. I almost had a stroke from the sheer awesomeness.

  17. avatar Organized Chaos says:

Somehow this guy made all these insane plays on the number one defense in football (which would not have been without him) and didn’t win Defensive Player of the Year.
Enjoy it Rod Woodson – You didn’t deserve though like #24

  18. avatar Brad says:

anyone else think we should start asking him to play WR too! lol – he makes amazing catch after amazing catch- great hands!

  19. avatar rusty sanchez says:

i truly believe if those football robots that are on fox during the games had their own league they would allow revis to be in it

  20. avatar ramble914 says:

    Dakar,

You nailed it! That’s who DR reminds me of Darrell Greene, very similar type players. We’re so lucky to have him.

  21. avatar WW85 says:

This year will be a new challenge for DR as teams have the full off season to study film & create new gameplans for him. Will be great to see him rise up to it.

  22. avatar R in CT says:

I would’ve liked to see the pick vs. Cincy in the wild card game. That was amazing!

  23. avatar Marvel says:

Yea Revis is good but not great .. He dropped about 6-10 potential ints .. He single handedly cost us tha Falcons game .. Is he the best CB in the NFL ? Maybe .. Is he sheer greatness? Nope ..

  24. avatar greatgastineausghost says:

I noticed one thing about Revis on this film.

After 5 yards, he looks at the QB not the WR.

Most CBs tend to watch the WR all the way, then go for the tackle, but Revis seems to understand that as soon as the WR turns his head, the WR is no longer his problem, the ball is.

    Just an observation.

    Oh, and the music sucked.

  25. avatar Dylan says:

    Marvel,

    You’re kidding, right?

  26. avatar Dylan says:

Three missed FGs cost us the Falcons game, as well as blown coverage by one of our safeties in the end zone. I don’t remember Revis giving up any completions. So what if he dropped a pick. He is a defensive back, not a wide receiver. Blaming him for that game is ridiculous.

  27. avatar MassJETSfan says:

    Marvel u can’t be serious!!, r u aigh man?, I don’t know what games u`ve been watching!!

  28. avatar nyckage says:

    \Marvel
OK he dropped some wide open passes, he’s not the best possession WR ever, but he is probably the best Coverage CB in the League

And I don’t know what Game you were watching, but I saw Rhodes as the weakness of that game

  29. avatar taylor mays says:

    marvel
your 100% right you know i would of made all those ints.

  30. avatar firstdown77 says:

Where was the pick in the San Diego game off of Vincent Jackson? That was very lucky, but it was a huuuge play in the game.

  31. avatar GP says:

Haha right when I opened this, an NFL Network commercial came on showing clips of players talking on the sidelines. In one such clip, Steve Smith (Car) turns is sitting on the bench presumably after scoring a TD and says to the camera, “You can try to contain me, but you can’t stop me!” Pretty sure I know a guy who stopped you last year, Stevie-boy.

  32. avatar GP says:

You know this guy’s the real deal when you legit have to sit top-flight WR’s in fantasy football whenever they go up against him.

  33. avatar madbacker12 says:

what is taylor mays doing on jetsblog?

  34. avatar cmonleon says:

cant wait for this season. most of his pics are pretty acrobatic only one pass was a lame duck pass all the other pics were perfect positioning and just pushing his way through to the ball. maybe we could put him in at slot while holmes is out lol.

  35. avatar cmonleon says:

o and revis made the entire season possible without him shuting down the whole right side we would have been screwed last season.

  36. avatar Marvel says:

Hey Mays I’ve been trying to school people on your future greatness .. But they won’t listen ..

Say what you want about that Falcons game but if Revis makes that pick near the sideline with like 1 minute left in the 4th .. Game over .. The ball was thrown right at him , in his belly .. Woodson would have pick 6 that pass ..

I still like Revis .. No biggy ..

  37. avatar BigKatFan says:

i remember the look on Eli’s face after that end zone pick in the pro bowl. priceless.

  38. He’s sick. I think he’s already Top 5 greatest Jets of all time. If the rest of his career is even somewhat 2009ish, he’ll probably go down as the greatest Jet ever —- I pray every night that Revis will be a Jet for life.

I really think the secondary is not only going to solid, but exciting to watch as well.

In past years the Jets secondary was out there merely to “play defense” — but now the opposition needs to account for, and has reason to fear Revis, Cromartie, and Kyle Wilson.

    When does the season start?

  39. avatar surely you jets says:

He picks precisely the right moment to stop playing the man and start playing the ball –amazing. Best player in the sport.

  40. avatar Lance Mehl says:

chills … incredible .. he’s so instinctual .. its like he has four eyes ..2 in front, and 2 in back ..and yes, great hands

  41. avatar tish says:

Let’s be honest, highlight sequences can be created to make even the most pedestrian player look better than he is. In the case of Revis, his non-highlights are outstanding and the only real way to appreciate him is to watch his play thoughout the game. An offensive coordinator who studies the Jets’ film will conclude that you must avoid him most of the time resulting in a pass attack that the D can manipulate and a running game that can be controlled. Cro and Wilson need to have an awesome year and the front 7 or 6 or 5 need to stay healthy. I have rarely been optimistic about an upcoming season, but this one has the feel of a concluding parade in Manhattan.

  42. avatar Brendan says:

Haha Marvel….I hope you’re joking. He cost us the Falcons game? Not an inept offense or a blown assignment? Revis? The guy who held Roddy White (1150 yards, 11 TD’s, 72 yards/game and a 13.6 avg/catch….who would have had 75 yards/game and 13.8 yards/catch had he not played Revis) to 4 catches and 33 yards?

  43. avatar GP says:

Yeah Marvel, pass me some of whatever it is you’re smoking

  44. avatar NamVetJet says:

Ditto Dakar, what is nice is that Revis’ stats for the first 3 years are better than Greenes.

  45. avatar NamVetJet says:

Put on top of that, during Green’s career the CB could actually touch a WR.

  46. avatar bubbybrister/shovelpass says:

Mom! Marvel is snorting the pop-rocks again !

  47. avatar Marvel says:

    Lmao @ bubbybrister ..

I luv Revis just as much as the next guy & if you wanna tell yourself he didn’t lose the Falcons game fine.. But he did ..

  48. avatar Brendan says:

    Marvel.

That is seriously the most absurd thing I’ve heard in a while. You could say he had a chance to win the game, but he didn’t lose it. There’s a huge difference.

  49. avatar Marvel says:

Brendan … Good point .. That’s more of the “glass is half full” outlook .. I’m just sayin great CBs make that pick .. People blame losses on missed FGs dropped passes etc so why can’t I blame the Falcons loss on a dropped int?

  50. avatar michael says:

Revis gave them a chance to win that game by totally eliminating Roddy White. No way can you put that on him.

  51. avatar Brendan says:

    Marvel,

I would say because it wasn’t the play the Falcons scored on. If I had to pick one player it’d be Strickland since it was his blown coverage that left Gonzalez open.

  52. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

He dropped a INT that could of won the game for the Jets… but he shut down Roddy White the entire game so that the Jets could hold a 7-3 lead

Im sorry Marvel, when your offense scores 7 points in a game its hard to point to your all universe CB and blame the game on him

  53. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Agreed Brendan, Strickland also got the PI penalty that gave the Falcons great field position…

Revis could have won the game for the Jets, but he didnt…he dropped the ball…one time

Still cant give Strickland a pass for covering the same zone as Kerry Rhodes when had he stayed on his assignment the ball is probably batted or picked

  54. avatar Marvel says:

    Brendan / Eddie

I would argue that if Revis makes that pick then there is no chance for Strickland to blo his coverage ..

You two guys are smart so you would probably refute my argument with something that happened in the 3rd or earlier in the 4th quarter ..

Point is you can say that I’m not right but you can’t say that I’m wrong ..

  55. avatar Bent says:

I remember the play – it was a diving attempt, definitely not an easy play.

  56. avatar JesusRevis says:

I remember that play very well and I was disapointed in Revis, it wasnt an easy play, but it should be an easy play for him. With that said, blaiming the loss on him is ridiculous. The fact that our offense only scored 7 points against an Atlanta team that was giving up a lot of yards and points was inexcuasable.

  57. avatar Brendan says:

    Marvel,

I just don’t get how you pick that play and call it Revis’ fault the team lost. The defense held them to over 100 yards less than their season average. The offense couldn’t run the ball and was inept pretty much the whole game. Maybe Sanchez could have kept some of his 3 INT’s from happening. Blame can be spread all over, it wasn’t a very good game for the Jets, but you can’t blame Revis and soley Revis. That’s absurd.

  58. avatar Bent says:

Yeah, if Kobe Bryant scores 35 on Monday night but misses a tough layup with 1:30 to go and the Lakers lose by one, is it his fault? Even if Ron Artest went 0-12 and Andrew Bynum bricked two free throws with ten seconds left?

  59. avatar Bent says:

JR – did you see my salary cap article over the weekend? I think you would find it interesting.

  60. avatar Marvel says:

Bent … If it was a wide open layup would you blame him then ?

There’s so many variables to look at in football that it’s never easy to choose one play as to why a team won or lost .. I just happen to choose the Revis play because it’s the one I can’t forget .. & if he’s the “best” CB he’s gotta make those plays ..

Did the Vikings lose their playoff game because of Favres last int ? Or was it the 50 fumbled ?
Did the Packers lose to the Cardinals because the Ref didn’t call the face mask penalty in OT ? Or did they lose because they played D like they were throwing the game ?

  61. avatar Bent says:

Leaving aside the fact I can’t stand Kobe, if he played well, some other people played badly and another mistake even costlier than his own happened closer to the end of the game, then the blame would be shared.

As you say, there’s a ton of variables.

For Revis, I think he played so well and made so many plays that you wouldn’t expect anyone else to make, he has earned a free pass for this one (which was a tougher play than an open layup, even if you are Darrelle Revis).

  62. avatar JesusRevis says:

    Bent,

I’m gonna check out that article now, looking forward to it!

Just curious, why cant you stand Kobe? It just so happens he’s my favorite player, although I think part of the reason why I like him so much is because so many people hate him.

  63. avatar Bent says:

Not to get into a debate over it, the media adulation bugs me and I find him arrogant. I feel similarly about LeBron. Good player, though.

  64. avatar Brendan says:

Kobe is selfish and I hate the “personality” that we’re told he has, while everrrrrry thing I see him do points to him being just not a good guy.

  65. avatar JesusRevis says:

I dont want to get into basketball arguments on this site, but I cant help myself.

I could care less about their personalities or how the media portrays them, the fact is that Kobe Bryant is an all time great athlete and competitor. I dont mind if people dont like him as a person, but please, accept that fact that he has mastered his sport and he will go down as a top 5 player in NBA history.

…Oh yeah, and hes DEFINITELY better than Lebron!

  66. avatar Brendan says:

Kobe is good, I would never say he’s not an all-time great. I wouldn’t put him in the top 5, but he’s certainly top 15, and if he wins another title he’s probably top 7 or 8.

As for Bron. It’s too early for him. He’s only 25. Yes, Kobe had accomplished more by then, but he had Shaq to cling to.

And his personality does impact his game. He’s highly competitive but he wants to be the hero and sometimes those two can’t happen together. Whatever. ‘Bron in blue & orange this summer and they’ll meet each other in the Finals (aaaaand I just woke up).

  67. avatar Dylan says:

I think Kobe has gotten a lot more mature as a person and a player. Most people hated him a couple years ago, but I think for the most part that has changed. You guys are entitled to your opinions, but he always seems like a good guy in interviews. In my opinion LeBron is way more arrogant than Kobe. Watch this youtube video if you disagree.

    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8ux_IrAn-wg&feature=related

By the way I strongly advice you to turn the sound off before you watch it!

  68. avatar Bent says:

Well, his career isn’t over yet (and neither is LeBron’s). I think Kobe is better right now, but LeBron has been closing fast.

As for their position on an all-time ranking, I think it’s impossible to compare eras, but I think the game is a lot easier for star players these days, so you’ll never, ever convince me that today’s stars are more talented than their 80′s counterparts.

It’s completely subjective though, so you can make an argument for whoever you wanted to. I hope we can leave it at that :o)

  69. avatar Bent says:

    Loved the clip, Dylan.

Kobe’s definitely learned some humility (or if you’re skeptical, he’s learned how to appear more humble). You wouldn’t see him playing air guitar on the bench in a 30 point blowout.

  70. avatar Dylan says:

This is also a quote from LeBron:
“I put a lot of pressure on myself to go out be great and the best player on the court. When I’m not, I feel bad for myself.”

Isn’t he supposed to feel bad for the TEAM, not himself? It seems like a pretty selfish thing to say after he let his entire team now down with a terrible performance. Does he owe the organization an apology because he didn’t play well? Of course not. But the fact that he apparently only feels sorry for himself rubs me the wrong way a little bit. That said, all will be forgiven if he comes to the Knicks! As selfish as he is, the I don’t think I cant take another 50 loss season…

  71. avatar Eddie DiGio says:

Marvel- you are right in that he could have ended the game right there…and there may come a time when he’ll have to do that for the Jets to win a huge game of epic magnitude…and Id still bet my life that Revis comes through

Just think putting the blame for the loss on that one play is a little harsh…

You are also right in the fact that sometimes Revis is going to have to make the plays no one else can make for the Jets to take it to the next level…

Atlanta game or not Relle Rev is the best defensive player in football

  72. avatar WiL says:

In that video, it looks like the best receiver they showed … was Revis! He has great hands, great speed, and he’s always in position. Why not send him out there on some late-game, trick play situations?

  73. avatar Brendan says:

    Dylan,

C’mon, it’s pretty much common knowledge how great of a teammate Lebron is. He is what makes that Cavs team so tight. And during his MVP speech he stopped mid-sentence and brought his entire team (who were in attendance, when it’s rare more than a handful of guys show up) on stage to share the moment. I don’t think the guy is selfish for a second.
