OK, who’s ready to have a little offseason fun AND at the same time help out a great cause? Give us a few minutes, and we’ll explain in full.
Brandon Moore (AKA “Meat” to his teammates) has become something of a Twitter legend / iconoclast all without even having an account.
Apparently he’s not much of a fan of the new fangled media called Twitter, and has made it known to his teammates. Heck even Faneca created an account just to “piss off” his old teammate.
However, teammate Nick Mangold knows that Moore has a lot to share with the world whether Moore cares to or not – and so he came up with a funny hashtag that started showing up in his tweets a few days ago, and then last night Nick created an account for Mr. Moore on his behalf. That’s right… Meat’s now on Twitter .. like it or not.
Why bother? Well, apparently Meat has some funny aphorisms — insightful or otherwise — that Nick Mangold feels compelled to share with the world. Having read a few, Nick is making the world a better place.
We’ll let our buddy Erik Manassy explain in full … but what it boils down to is that Nick has taken the @ShitMyDadSays monniker and mashed it up with Meat’s nickname… coming up with the sagely named account … @ShitMeatSays.
Why should we care? Because this is where WE THE FANS come in.
I suggested to Nick on Twitter that we could even take this a step further. Fans on Twitter could ask questions about the mysteries of life (love, existence, etc.) to Meat, which Mangold would pick through, and then Mangold could tweet back the best answers that Meat gives him, if they are sufficiently @ShitMeatSays–worthy, of course.
In exchange for his thoughts, we’d help Brandon Moore, who is hosting a golf fundraiser today for a very noble cause … the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation, which is basically a way for parents with late stage cancer to share wonderful experiences with their young children … in it’s simplest terms, think of it as a reverse Make-A-Wish.
According to the event website, the event is short of their goal by about $20,000. And while we know that’s a lot of money, we’ here at TJB are going to give to this worthy cause, and would urge everyone to help us put a dent into that figure. We made our donation last night, and hope you’ll take the time today to do the same.
By the way, my wife, who worked in fundraising, wants you to know EVERY GIFT, BIG OR SMALL HELPS to reach the goal! Yes, I’m talking to you!
So if you give, see the foundation’s website donations page and be sure to put “Sh*tMeatSays” as part of the message/memoriam line to the Jack & Jill Late Stage Cancer Foundation so we can try and get a tally of what we gave.
And if you have questions for Meat, be sure to use the hashtag #MeatyQuestions so that Nick can pull up your questions, and hopefully get you some answers.

and linebackers: that’s completely false
wide receivers: aside from mr. hip surgery, you’re receivers are horrible…at least you don’t have to live through ted ginn jr this year.the jets are better than miami this year, hands down.

You guys seen who the followers of the page are? There’s a whole lot of Jets players past and present.
