News: Mangold at Training Camp
Jane McManus of ESPN has broken news that Nick Mangold is indeed at training camp today, after saying last week that he was “50/50” at attending the camp this week.
Glad to see he’s there, but I don’t think it’s because a deal was done over the weeekend … stay tuned.

While everyone is talking about Revis, I think Mangold needs to be our priority. I think the reasons are obvious. He is a Pro Bowler who is arguably the best center in the league. He is in the final year of his contract. A quarterback relies heavily on his center, not to mention a young QB who is looking to make significant strides in his second year. We cannot risk this guy holding out or even worse, hitting the open market. I don’t completely know his free agent status, whether he would be restricted or unrestricted. Either way, lock this guy up.

Nick Mangold is fast becoming the true backbone of this team, he is outspoken, self depracting and has turned into the best center in football , with an attitude that is still one of a workingman. keep this guy forever, lock him up, he’ll be here for another 10yrs.

Forgot to mention that he also seems like a good guy and someone who is becoming a strong leader in the lockeroom and on the field.
Good for Nick.
Can’t they give him a 1 year extension just to placate him?
