Link: Nnamdi’s Willing to Help Out

by Bassett on June 20th, 2010 at 9:00 am

A funny diversion from Nnamdi during an ESPN interview Friday about his buddy Revis and the deal he’s seeking to edge out his friend. Aso.

“I can give Darrelle the 50 cents if he wants it,” Asomugha joked with ESPN “First Take” host Dana Jacobson on Friday.

[..]

Asomugha said he spoke to Revis as recently as last week and they didn’t talk about contracts.

“That’s not a competition thing for me,” Asomugha said.

Glad to see Nnamdi is willing to kick in a little … maybe that will help Tannenbaum get the deal done?

If revis doesn’t take the $100 million for six years extension, it will show what a greedy player he is. And not a team player. Let’s see what happens but right now I AM not a revis fan.

    Ed-

It’s not so much that he’s turning down a ton of money. He’s turning down the no NEW gauranteed money. But it seems like he doesn’t realize under the current rules they can’t gaurantee any money after the first Three year years which he’s already under contract for 21 million gauranteed.

The only way he’ll be happy is with a large signing bonus(which the jets don’t wanna do cause they don’t know what the caps gonna be like) or they rip up his current deal and make a new one but then he won’t have a 9 year contrace offer anymore.

  7. avatar johnny 2 hottie says:

9 cars in one month?? dude u need to move back to ny…..i sell 9 cars per week…..

getting to revis…hes selfish , we saw that wen the jets drafted him. how he held out of training camp. and please dont give me the garbage of i cant feed my family with 10 mill per year. i make a good living, 200k per year, and i provide just fine for my family. players will never understand how stupid they look when they make a comment like that. look at sprewell, turned down that big contract and never found a job again. now hes broke. revis use that as a example before u turn down 100 mill

  8. avatar levi says:

Hey Nnamdi, if you really want to help tell Revis that you are not worth your contract and your owner is bat **** crazy to have ever offered it. Also tell him how badly you wish you could play for a contender like the Jets but because of crazy contracts in Oakland they will never be contenders. So you just go thru your career wasting your talent for a losing team year after year.

  12. avatar tyrone says:

i even wonder if he reads this from his home .as for florio he is being paid by revis agent just listen to him on nbc sports he is a used car salesmen you could tell hes just beefing up the talks

  13. avatar Shamik says:

200k/year! Holy crap, as a student with negative income, thats unimaginable! You don’t even need that – my fiance’s parents make like 50k tops and they have their own house, two cars, 3 dogs, 2 kids graduated from private colleges and just bought a horse. A HORSE! Clearly you can live your life just fine without making bank. Would that Revis understood this little life lesson.

I have been looking but can’t find any dates for training camp in Cortland yet. Have they been released yet. I’m getting excited for it already.

My sister lives about 40 minutes away from Cortland so I plan on spending 3 or 4 days there. Maybe get out on the town and see a few of the players out.

  15. avatar adornoj1 says:

what if we all chipped in with 50 cents? lol

  16. avatar LukeV says:

What a punk, it’s because of him(nhamdi) and al Davis that we are even having this discussion! I’m with Revis on this on, he is without a doubt the vest corner in football and should be paid like it… But, it’s clear Al Davis has list his marbles and Nhamdi took full advantage of it!! It’s all a smokescreen right now, we’ll all see soon enough.

    Hey Bassett,
Off subject, but hope you have had the first of many very happy father’s days.

  18. avatar The Ed(itor) says:

Let’s see, $100 million over 6 years is $16.5 million a year. What’s his problem?

  19. avatar War Machine says:

Id take 1 million dollars over 10 years right about now!!!

  20. avatar Zartan says:

    War Machine,

Dito, unless i’m really good. then i’ll ask for more

  21. avatar Bobby says:

all you haters on revis , watch what you say.
without him on our squad, this team would have not won 5 games this year, and that is a fact

  22. avatar Joe B. says:

No, I believe that’s the very definition of “not a fact.” It’s an opinion.
