We’re pleased to announce a big addition to TheJetsBlog for training camp this summer in Cortland! Thanks to our partnership with SNY, we’re proud to say that TheJetsBlog is adding a staple of the Jets beat, Lisa Zimmerman, to the daily training camp routine here at TheJetsBlog!
Lisa Zimmerman joins TheJetsBlog after covering the New York Jets in various capacities for the past decade. She currently also serves as the Jets correspondent for CBSSports.com and will provide daily blogs and regular features starting in training camp.
I’ve come to know Lisa over the last year, and am thrilled to have her on board. Lisa has excellent relationships with many of the players and will provide great insight into what she sees this summer in Cortland. Lisa can be found on Twitter @LisaZimmerman and on CBSSports.com
While this is great news for TJB, we want to make it abundantly clear that this announcement was only possible because of you, the readers of this site. As the site’s readership grows, we’re able to provide you better access and insight, and it’s solely based on you giving us the platform in the first place, so a big thank you to all your readers and commenters for making this possible to begin with.
While we’re at it, the site should be getting a facelift in the next week, and should look a lot more like Metsblog.com in the coming days, replete with all kinds of extra goodies for readers and commenters.
We’re excited for camp, and are thrilled to be able to have our own “eyes on the ground” each and every day. In addition to Lisa, the crew headed by Jeane Coakley will also be providing video content the SportsNite, so this just means more and more access and coverage for you the reader through TJB.
Please help me in welcoming Lisa to the community, and start looking for her reports this Sunday night when Jets players will arrive at training camp!

This is by far the best Jets site. BY FAR! Always informative, always timely, and seven days a week. You guys can’t be beat! Best posters anywhere, as well. Thanks!

just checking if the reply does the same thing metsblog does
-
nice it does- you know this will these arguments much easier to follow. hopefully it wont became as elementary as the generally immature arguments you get on metsblog.

-
Great to have Lisa contributing to the site. I am very muchlookingforwaed to reading your updates

WHY does it have to be ANYTHING like the METSBLOG!? Im kinda sick of this whole “if your a Jets fan you like the Mets”and “Giants/Yankees” its the same thing. Its garbage! THAT being said,TJB is the BEST blog and just plain SITE for the Jets and their fans. Thank You!
-
Lisa, will you marry me?
-
KC- I dont think its like the metsblog because of the mets jets connection, which in my humble opinion is the way it should be. Metsblog.com just got voted the top MLB blog site so its probably a good example to follow.
Regardless- we all know that mets/jets represent real NYers with strong character. You dont build you character with 27 championships- you just become a

my whole family and I were raised in the Bronx so the Yankees was a heredity. Plus, just for the record, the Yankees SUCKED for a good portion of my adolescence and my love for them never changed. That being said I am the only Jet fan in the family. And my uncle John is the only Mets fan in the family and a Giants fan.SO
-
Bassett,
Man, you changed this faster than I could finish reading your post.
Just wanted to throw in my two cents…
CAUTION: WORK WITH THE WEBMASTERS CLOSELY ON THIS CHANGE!! THE METS BLOG IS ONE OF THE SLOWEST, FATTEST SITES ON THE WEB — ALMOST UNUSABLE!!
PLEASE!!!! Have them slim the new site down as much as humanly possible, so it’s not the fat, oversized and SLLLOOOOOOOWWWWWW horror to zip around in as the Mets Blog is.
P.S. The other thing is that the Mets Blog is REALLY, REALLY ugly, where TJB has always been very classy looking.
Compare the old-look home page currently up, and this ugly thing. Yuck!

I like the reply option but preferred the “olde” look. Actually, I preferred my own look at 19 but things change.
I’ve enjoyed Lisa on CBS but liked “Jetting Around with Lisa Z” but thought it was too occasional. Glad she’s on board the ever fresh TJB.

Comment #2:
Also, the green at the top and on the right are waaaay too dark. These are Eagles Green, not Jets Green as you had in the earlier set up.
Plus, with the Eagles Green, you can’t use Black Text. It disappears in the dark green. Unreadable. The lighter green from earlier allowed you to use black text… this doesn’t. Unless you want EVERYTHING to be knockout white text.
Do like the Reply functionality, though, so that’s something… lol.
-
Using the spiffy new functionality…
Just checked the Mets Blog which I had not read in eons, and it is much faster then it used to be. So, kudos there.
But, the Mets Blog is still incredibly ugly.
I noticed they have the same template as TJB’s new site. But they’ve conquered the Black-on-Dark Color by making everything in the sidebar white knock-out white.

-
Welcome to TJB, Liza! I look forward to your reports from camp! Keep ‘em coming!
All the best!

For those of you getting sidetracked into Mets/Yankees silliness, remember that SNY is the TV home for both the Mets (everything, game and non-game coverage) and Jets (non-game coverage), so this is an ownership family values thing.
Consider this a TV time out.

Once again…
The web designer needs to rework the CSS sheet some.
Right now, the text in main Posts/Articles is shoved over to the far left in a too-tight column, and is flush left, with no margin.
Meanwhile, the sidebar is two-thirds of the way across instead of being far right, and there’s a third of the page on the right that’s blank. So, for now, everything’s shoved to the left.
Plus, please have the designer retool the Football field photo from the masthead. I finally figured out it (or something) was behind the TJB title in the masthead on the home page. But we can’t see it, since the Eagles Green is, again, way too dark.
-
please put the site back the way it was
-
Gotta love how this AWESOME blog is developing. Congrats and thanks, Brian.
Discussions in the comments will be much easier now with the new reply function and also our comments are in a much narrower text box now…like both of those changes,
Two things I would change:
Needs more Jets Green…the new colors remind me of Citi Field Jackie Robinson Rotunda where the stadium rotunda looks like it belongs to the Brooklyn Dodgers and not the Mets because there is NO mets blue in the architecture…all grayish blue.
Also, add the new Hall of Fame members to the sidebar

That’s awesome!
However, Please do not facelift the sight…I think myself and a lot of readers enjoy it for it’s simplicity in layout. Mets blog is very busy.
