T.O. Signs with the Who Deys

by Weeks on July 27th, 2010 at 8:34 pm

Though the T.O. to New York story got quite a bit of attention for much of the day, Adam Schefter put speculation to bed about three hours ago.

Filed to ESPN: Terrell Owens reached agreement with Bengals on a one-year, $2 million deal that includes another $2 million in incentives.

Ultimately, this is a good move for all parties involved. The Bengals get a playmate for Chad Ochocinco and the Jets don’t have to worry about any controversy that could have been.

Moving on … Who’s ready for training camp?

What about Coles. Tanny should sign him for the minimum. He’d be a great fourth wr at this point in his career and can fill in while Holmes is out. At the very least he’s worth the risk if he’ll sign on the cheap. Plus Revis loves him and anything will help out at this point in those negotiations.

    • avatar bilal says:

      Revis loves him?

Well hed be a useless 4th WR, after week 4, who doesnt play special teams. I rather keep brad smith involved so Id stay away from getting LC. Hopefully the clown will actually learn how to play football.

  2. avatar Bent says:

Don’t forget that the Bengals face everyone in the AFC East this season. How many of those teams are equipped to cope with TO and Chad?

    • avatar bilal says:

As long as Carson played like he did last year- teams wont have to worry so much. He was really disappointing last year- take benson off that team and they are not even close to the playoffs.

  3. avatar juunit says:

The Jets are the only team that has a chance of handling both of them. I really hope Pool can prove to be a good player. I hope he doesn’t turn out to be TOO aggressive, that could be a problem because the CB’s aren’t going to make every single play themselves especially against teams that come in with two high powered WR’s. But it isn’t like we’re competing against the Bengals for the division, so no worries.

  4. avatar madbacker12 says:

yes now we dont have to talk about this story now.

  5. avatar nick says:

Aaron Glenn signed with the Texans in a retirement move. Dissapointing as he really is a Jet.

  6. avatar Randy says:

    nick

Are you serious? He must still be upset about not being picked up in the expansion draft when he was dealt to the Texans.I always loved Glenn as a Jet and its dissapointing he chose them over us when the best years of his career was obviously as a Jet.

  7. avatar Randy says:

Should be interesting because that means Bryant will be their 3rd guy and Owens will be their number 2.Jets may be the only team in the NFL that can handle those WRs they have.

Revis obviously locked down OchoStinko last season and I trust Cromartie and Wilson can combine and shut out Owens.Bryant may be a problem, but he is hurt a lot and much older now so I trust Pool and Wilson can handle him.

best news i’ve herd all day!!!!

  9. avatar dtrain says:

    Im ready…me..me..me..me..me

  10. avatar Randy says:

    BTW

Did anyone download the Madden 11 Demo yet?
Jets and Colts are the 2 teams in the demo and I must say,Madden 11 looks sick this year. They even allow you to play a full 5 minute game. One thing I got out of that Demo is that Greene and Edwards are a BEAST in Madden this year.Greene continues to pick up chunks of yards and break tackles while Edwards just continues to get Wide open due to teams not being able to defend him with Cotchery and Holmes on the field.

One note though…Edwards does drop balls lol
-He dropped a few critical passes I threw to him that would have been 1st downs.

  11. avatar Led says:

In other words, TO’s agent (Rosenhaus?) widely leaked the Jets due diligence inquiry in order to get leverage in negotiations with the Bungles.

  12. avatar Jets = (Less) Misery says:

    Thank heaven for small blessings..

  13. avatar david i says:

  16. avatar Jon Presser says:

The only thing I dislike about the new SNY blog theme is that I can’t figure out a way to click through to a “next post” or a “previous post” once I’m reading the comments.

  17. avatar tyferraro says:

I dont like this new format… wheres the jets blog hall of fame and the links that used to be on the side theres too much empty space on the right side

  18. avatar MrJetGreen says:

That was too close for comfort…..I bet the Jets offered him the veterans minimum and all the Cheeto’s he could eat.

  19. Not feeling the new layout. The site lost a lot of personality with the change

  20. avatar MrJetGreen says:

  21. avatar MrJetGreen says:

Confusous say a meathead do what a meathead do…LOL..

  22. avatar 50 year Jet fan says:

  31. avatar JetsFan4Life says:

Appreciate the effort in trying something new; but definitely preferred TJB the way it was…either way, tho, what really counts is that you and the fine contributors provide, by far, the best content on the net!

    J E T S…JETS, JETS, JETS!

  32. avatar nyr2k2 says:

Not feeling the redesign. The threaded comments are money though.

  33. avatar bilal says:

Basset- just noticed your page is linked to the FB link. Maybe a jetsblog facebook site?

I also noticed you are friends with vernon gholston… really?

  34. avatar nyckage says:

  35. avatar JayM says:

  39. avatar Doug says:

I’m down with the new format. And ready for training camp

  40. avatar James in TN says:

Sorry , but there is just too much white. I prefer the old format. Can you get us a deal on some NYJ sunglasses so that we can read the replies better? At 4:00am its a wakeup.

  41. avatar david i says:

Added good feature functionality but took a huge hit with appearance and personality. Lost a lot of vibe!

    • avatar david i says:

Anyway to add a column on left for more content?

This site feels as sterile and drab as an operating room, whereas it used to feel like a Jets themed man cave! Inviting to all Jets fans. Now it feels like it is designed more for reporters in a writing class.

  42. avatar nick says:

I’m old and eaisly confused by new things. Is this still the way to reply?
