Yeah, he ranked them #1, but of course with the obligatory snarky comments. Why do these guys make “winning now” sound so negative?

i cant understand it either. its not like the jets are mortgaging the future of the franchise on one year, 2010. these guys make it sound like we have traded our 2011 and 2012 draft picks away to make a run at 2010….not the case at all
will some of the guys on the last year of their contract not be here in 2011 (Edwards, Holmes or Cromartie), sure. but that isnt the end of the world. this team is built around a core that is both young and highly skilled. all of the following players should be in green and white for a long time: Dbrick, Mangold, Keller, Cotchery, Sanchez, Greene, Harris, Revis, Wilson. That is a very solid base of guys. My opinion is that what Rex is building here is just the start….not a 1 or 2 year flash in the pan followed by a decade of rebuilding

And we’ll probably end up signing either Holmes or Edwards to a long term deal anyway.

Yea this whole, 1 year thing is a complete Joke.They make it sound like after this season, we will be like the New York Knicks of this past offseason and have no one under contract.Sure we have a few players who are going to help us out bigtime this season, but the bottom line is our young core is here for the next 10 years or so.Who do we lose next season worth value?
Tomlinson(Backup RB)-We have Greene and McKnight
Cromartie(2nd Cornerback)-We have Revis and Wilson
Taylor-We have Pace,Scott and We will bring back David Harris somehow
Edwards/Holmes-We will bring back whomever the better receiver is to continue pairing with CotcheryOur Offensive Line will remain intact which includes extenting Mangold.
Sanchez is our Franchise QB
Greene is our Franchise RB
Cotchery will be paired with Edwards/Holmes
Keller is our Franchise TE
Pretty much everyone reliable on defense will be back except Cromartie,Taylor and potentially Ellis.
Only issue I see a concern next season is DE and WR.Same concerns we had this offseason and this is why you have an NFL Draft.
The money that the Jets save for letting these guys go will all be used on bringing back our core guys such as Harris,Revis and Mangold.Same with bringing back either Edwards or Holmes.

If cromattie plays well they will keep him. And Homles and Edwards play well and don’t want mega $$$$ and they like playing for the Jets they will stick sound!!!!!! This is our year boys make it happen!!!!!!
