Reports are circulating of various degrees as to whether or not Jets players were making former Miss Spain (yes … Miss Spain) and current TV Azteca (Mexico) reporter Inés Sainz (that’s about the most appropriate photo that shows her face I could find) feel to one level or another, uncomfortable yesterday in the locker room of the Jets waiting on a chance to interview Mark Sanchez.
First the set up. Bart Hubbuch describes what he saw at practice.
Inés Sainz of Mexico’s TV Azteca, a shapely former Miss Universe contestant in town to interview Mark Sanchez, created quite a stir during the Jets’ practice yesterday.
Prodded by his players, defensive backs coach Dennis Thurman purposely overthrew passes to them in interception drills so that the footballs would land next to Sainz on the sidelines.
Realizing what they were doing, Taylor volunteered to come over and join the drills even though he is a linebacker and not a defensive back.
Coach Rex Ryan then joined in the fun, having Thurman run a sideline pattern and also intentionally overthrowing in Sainz’s direction.
PFT also reported a source told them Kris Jenkins was saying “this is our locker room” as justification for whatever was going on.
Sainz tweeted some about her day with the Jets, mostly about meeting Mark Sanchez in the Jets Locker room and the uncomfortable wait to meet her.
First tweet: “Me muero de incomodidad! Estoy en los lockers de los jets esperando por Mark Sanchez y mientras tratando de no mirar a ningun lado!! Take it away, Bassett’s four years of high school Spanish and one summer spent at language school in Mexico!
Translation: “I’m dying of embarrassment! I am in the locker [room] of the Jets waiting for Mark Sanchez and meanwhile trying not to look to either side.”
Second Jets tweet, “Solo porq es la unica forma de entrevistarlo previo al partido de el lunes!! Pero demasiada hormona masculina en el entorno!!”
Translation: “Only [because] the only way to interview (Sanchez) before the game Monday!! But there is too much [testosterone] in this environment!!”
Third Jets tweet, “Lo siento pero ni de broma sacaria una foto de esto!! Si ni volteo!! Solo veo el locker de Mark y me quisiera taparme los oidos!!”
Translation: “I’m sorry, but not even [in jest] would I take a picture of this!! If not [even] turn around!! I all I see is Mark’s locker but still want to cover my ears!!”
Fourth jets tweet, “Mision cumplida!! Mark Sanchez es una gran persona! Muy amable e inteligente!! Mañana pueden ver su entrevista en Ritual NFL!!”
Translation: “Mission accomplished!! Mark Sanchez is a great person! Very amiable and intelligent!! You can see his interview tomorrow on Ritual NFL“
It sounds like she was embarrassed, and I hope that was all. Of course, it’s never appropriate to harass women, so don’t expect us to make any excuses for Jets players if that was the case.
What I will say, is that everyone involved had to see this coming. There are clearly some distinctions of what is and what isn’t appropriate between cultures, and I have to guess that the divide is half of the cause.
Knowing that, TV Azteca has made a habit of playing off the flirtatious gender notions, that they are themselves creating for their own employees. TV Azteca sent Inez Gomez Mont to the Super Bowl a few years ago to propose to Tom Brady. Ha ha. I also remember Ms. Sainz’s hard-hitting journalism of the Cardinals – Steelers Super Bowl during which she brought a tape measure to take bicep measurements on Super Bowl Media Day, so … it might be cruel, but it’s hard for me to feel much sympathy for an organization that is encouraging their reporters to be – as it were – put in harm’s way.

Why should she be uncomfortable? I thought women liked that kind of attention.
-
They do. They just like to be private about it.
-
-
Even if she was acting in a provactive manner, engaging in such conduct is asinine.
-
You hit the nail on the head when citing the Tom Brady marriage proposal and the biceps measurement. Every year this chica uses her sexuality as a part of her on air personality and her “reporting.” What a surprise! She’s once again making the situation all about herself instead of the story. If this woman was not attractive she would have no career like she has and we could all focus on football, not her bullcrap.
-
It’s pretty ridiculous for them to act that way. Regardless of her on-air persona, whatever they did or said embarrassed her. Probably because she wasn’t on the air at the time.
There are women in reporters in that locker room all the time and it is a place of business, not a frat house. To me, this compounds the issue with eating burgers during practice and shows me some on the team have a maturity problem.
-
Not gonna lie I laughed when I read what they were doing…
-
Women in the locker room is a bad idea.
-
And let me clarify, at least from the reports I’ve read I don’t think what they did on the field overthrowing passes is a big deal. But if they were somehow harassing her in the locker room then that kind of behavior has no place in the league.
I don’t want to jump to conclusions but to me, it’s crazy when people do these kinds of things and think it’s not gonna get out or that it’s ok.

Where’s Machete when you need him?
-
I want a chance to make her feel uncomfortable. She’s dressesed playfully. It’s a chance they over did it buy her attire says she was looking to have fun. If you want to be treated like. King , don’t go dressed as a bum.
-
+1 for sure. Dave chapelle said it best “you may not be a slut but your definitely wear the uniform”
-
No. Just No. Provocative dress might be more of an invitation to flirt but harassment is never alright. Disappointing to read comments like this.
-
Agreed.

Normally, I might be more sensitive to her “discomfort,” but… seriously, she’s a good-looking woman naturally. Then she went & purchased a set of Hindenburg’s for her chest. Anyone that looks great in a bikini, then gets the implants, WANTS that extra attention & deserves no sympathy when she gets it. If any player actually touched her, THAT would be a different story.
-
they actin like they never seen a good looking lady before i thought in their profession they would come across, date, or marry someone like her…but something dosent seem right about this story the fact that rex got involved seems a little too much hes a little smarter than that being a family man and all
-
It doesn’t matter how she looked, you still don’t do that kind of stuff. I agree that sending a reporter in there that looks like her would be a bad idea, but it is still unacceptable to act like teenage boys around her. If in fact this incident was as bad as it was portrayed, this is very embarrassing. Grow up guys.
-
Hopefully there was no harassment during this, because that would be a shame.
She is gorgeous.

To be honest this sort of “attention” is really common in both Spain and Mexico. Spanish women grow up rejecting the advances of overzealous male suitors. Spanish men basically mob whatever single women enters their field of vision. I’ve seen it first hand and its hilarious…and a little creepy. Be that as it may, Spanish women are tough cookies. They’re used to attention and they’re used to rejecting it.
I think this had less to do with harassment and more to do with culture shock/ a touch of racism. She’s in an NFL locker room where no one, save Sanchez, speaks Spanish and everyone is a large muscular man. Now to further the problem, Sainz is Spanish. The Spanish are not racially progressive. I’m almost certain Sainz had a case of White flight, where she saw visions of the stereotypical “black rapist.” Irrational fear of black men is ingrained in the Spanish psyche. That’s why she was so uncomfortable.
-
Woman should not be in a Mens Locker room period. If she didn’t want to be embarassed than Meet Sanchez at a more comfortable situation.I’m sorry but if you looked like her, with the body she has LOL OMG can you blame them for acting this way. This could happen in any locker room in the NFL and not just the Jets.Guys will act like guys and it is no different in any other locker room.
-
Or on the street!
-
-
Mios Dio – Shame on her! While I love her Moy Caliente curves, they belong in a Miss Univerese pageant, not the Gridiron.
Seriously, what did she expect from the Jets locker room? Get back to shooting Fanta commercials, already. We’ve got a football gamete win!!!
-
The Jets are gonna get killed for this in the media, I already hear ppl talkin about it on tv. Even though I’m sure it was all in fun, and let’s be honest, what the hell do you expect when a girl that looks like that walks into a football locker room?
-
I’d be interested and make moves if I saw a girl like that in the grocery store, so I can only imagine what a huge group of dudes with their friends there in a locker room of all places are capable of lol.
-
I’d hit it…..
-
Two things:
one is that, no matter how a woman dresses or even acts, she is never asking to be harassed- i.e. intimidated, demeaned, etc.
Two is that there’s no suggestion anything like that happened. Wasn’t it pretty clear from the tweets that the embarrassment she was talking about was referring to some 5 to 50 naked men airing it all out, so to speak, in the locker room?
If there were a couple of instances of adolescent foolishness, it wouldn’t be anything new for an NFL lockerroom (or, as others have pointed out, for most Hispanic women).
-
Exactly. There are no reports and only speculation. An attention whore terry’s something and all of a sudden the jets are all rapists. This is such BS. terry’s are not valid reports (right cowlishaw?). This is another case of this woman’s ego coming first instead of a story. But wait, she’s a woman’s and non white, which means whatever age says that she’s the victim
-
iPhone fail terry’s are supposed to be tweets
-
she most likely does her boss every night coakley is hotter and she has never complained the world has a hard on for the jets
-
I’d be more concerned if she was comfortable with 53 naked guys walking around “spitting” Game.
-
non story

+1

This is really pretty sad for the Jets. Players and coaches were both involved. It’s one thing for a female reporter to see dick in the locker room. That’s just the locker room. It’s another for same reporter to have footballs wailed at her.
-
It’s pretty sad if coaches, particularly, were involved. Rex himself may have partaken somewhat? Pretty disappointing.
-
Remember Rex talked about the difference between having fun and being a jackass? This definitely sounds like a bunch of people were being jackasses. I could care less about trash talk (even if they lose), but this is embarrassing.
-
I must be missing it. Where is the part where she is “harassed”?
-
We don’t really know the full story so it’s hard to really say, but whatever they did, I wish they hadn’t!
Personally, I don’t think any reporters should be in the locker room. Have the press meet them after shower and changing.
-
yeah, where did she even mention being harassed in her twitter?
she said she was embarrassed and didnt wanna look anywhere but thats because she is in a locker room with 53 dudes. a place they shower and change.
also, she hott, i would have told my boy to throw the ball by her too so i could get a better look.
just more media hatin on the jets.
-
i hope she won miss universe, cuz if there was another contestant better looking than her….. o madone!
-
Didn’t even make the top 10. She’s not pretty, just a slamming body.
-
-
2 questions…
1 – Is she married?
2 – Could her clothes be any tighter?
-
They say “dress for success”. I guess there’s dressing for professional or personal success. A professional should dress professionally. Dressing respectfully gets respect. Dressing non respectfully to thy self gets non respect from others. For every action there is a reaction!
-
well if she didnt want to be that uncomfortable she shouldnt have worn custom made pants that fit her so tight she was basically naked…
-
Are you kidding the only thing uncomfortable in that Locker Room were her Pants…Her Makeup is Horrible looks like she slept in it all night. The Ratty Bleach Job on her head looks the same. Fake Booby too big for her Body. I’m sorry the Jets called it like they saw it. She looks like a 5 dollar Mexican Hooker. And she says she’s Hot well guess what She’s NOT. Men change in a locker room that’s were they are naked women stay the hell out of the locker rooms. It’s like going into a men’s John you don’t belong there
-
If you dress like that deal with it baby. qqqqqqqqqqquit whinning.

esa chica esta muy buena .could we get a larger picture.
