Good thing the pressure got there, Wilson blew his coverage. If Favre had thrown it to the guy going deep, it probably would have been a touchdown!

He didn’t blow anything. By the time Ellis got close to Wilson the ball was already being released by Favre. Ellis was full-steam ahead so the pass obviously wasn’t going to Favre, who was scrambling to avoid pressure.

Mayock is an exceptionally good analyst and as a youth and high school football coach I watch NFL Playbook religiously. You get lots of good nuggets from the whole team but Mayock is the best of the bunch:

I’ve gone to a few games in Detroit and one of my rules is arrive at the city limits with a full stomach, an empty bladder and a full tank of gas so that you don’t have to stop anywhere to-and-from the game. It’s a get in and get out situation!
