Link: Jets Fantasy Depth Chart Review

PFF took a look at the Jets team from a Fantasy Football perspective … looking at each player individually in terms of production, and came to some conclusions and projections for 2011.

Yeah, strange that he didn’t include Edwards, but then mentions him later in the article.

Could be because he’s a UFA and therefore strictly speaking not on the team? Otherwise, just an oversight.

        Bent:

PFF are being very kind to our beloved friend ( I will not mention his in fear of armagedon)

It must be out of their (PFF)respect for your frienship with them that the rank him #9 out of 32.

I say this because ESPN has ranked him 27 and 28 out of 32 the last two years. ;)

PFF’s team of analysts grade every player on every snap, using a strict set of criteria designed to avoid bias.

Are you seriously suggesting that because I met one of them once they would ignore all that data and just give him a good grade to make me look good? For the record, I’ve never met any of the PFF fantasy guys and I’m 99.9% sure none of them have ever heard of me.

Anyway, if you’d been paying attention, you’d know that I have been pretty critical of Sanchez over the last few years (while at the same time understanding his youth and that he is developing).

You didn’t read the article correctly. All they were saying is that he was 9th in the NFL in passing attempts.

The only thing I disputed was your contention that he was the one guy to blame for their playoff exit. Don’t take that to mean that I think he’s a wonderful and flawless player, because I’ve never said anything of the sort.

Braylon is excluded because he is an Unrestricted Free Agent AND unlikely to resign. Thanks for reading…

    • avatar Jim says:

unlikely to resign based on what? your opinion? both edwards and holmes have stated a desire to come back to the jets and nothing has been decided on due to the lockout (i.e. salary cap, restricted vs unrestricted FAs, etc. etc.). i don’t mean this as an attack because i enjoyed the article. just curious about the logic there.

      • avatar Bent says:

As things stand, I’d personally be surprised if Edwards doesn’t return. That doesn’t mean he will, but right now I wouldn’t personally characterize him as “unlikely to re-sign”. However, the likes of ESPN have been assuming they’ll let a WR go for months (and that’s all it is – an assumption), so it’s not surprising that the current belief amongst non-Jets fans is that he won’t be back.

The Jets are a good solid NFL team that has very few fantasy players. I for one like it that way. The only useful FF entry is the team’s defense/special teams. Braylon, like most receivers, is only as good as his QB.
