If you’re looking for a Muhammad Wilkerson jersey, looks like the big fella will be wearing #96.
There’s not been a long list of Jets who’ve worn the #96 for the Jets, only players since the 80sHere’s the list, as best I can pull together:
Ron Stallworth (DE) 1989-90
Mark Gunn (DE) 1991-94
Dave Ball (DT) 2005-06
David Bowens (LB) 2007-08

Well this was inspiring. Why else would I go to the Jets website, and go through the all time roster, letter by letter, looking for 96s.
How could you leave off Jason Trusnik ’07, or Daleroy Stewart ’01.
Shat is really hard to believe is that no great Jet wore a number in over 40 years.
But the real joy for me was finding out Jim Nance, the hated Patriot, was once a Jet (who knew?) and a few memory cells remembered Cosmo Iacavazzi who I had watched play for Princeton.
Wilkerson, this number is all yours. No former Jet who wore it will remember or cared about (except for players and families of the forementioned non-all pros). Make this number resonate with future and current fans big guy.

You seem to have forgotten someone currently on the roster who is … well was wearing 96: Martin Tevaseu!

That would be great if that could be the number of sack he had during his 10 years with the jets
