I saw that ridiculous conspiracy that PFT is trying to launch about itself and comments on its posts backing the owners possibly coming from NFL ownership.

    It’s ludicrous because

    a. These guys are billionaires and have much better things to do than have people pretend to post comments for them on a website.
    b. The owners clearly don’t care about the fans at this point, much less about what they might be saying in the comments of a site like PFT.
    c. They would start with their own site, NFL.com, which if anyone bothered to check, seems just as critical of owners and players as PFT.

I think BB has suggested Florio is a self-promoting tool; this just confirms that.

      c. I meant to say the “comments section of NFL.com”

    • avatar Bent says:

Deadspin did a post about how shocking some of the pro owners comments are. The result? A comments section filled with people trying to see it from both sides.

PFT. Staggeringly narcissistic. They should change the site to “Pfft” because that’s about all the react I can muster to most of their guff.

I don’t think the article was actually serious in suggesting that these are planted comments. I think it’s just pointing to the ridiculousness of these comments/pro-owner stances.

      • avatar Bent says:

The way I read it, I figured they were serious and the NFL certainly responded as if they wanted to dispel the thought. Serious or not (at the end of the day, it’s Florio, so who cares?), it was a daft suggestion.

Some people are just pro owner/anti-player – wherever you look.

The Clements thing is the no-brainer of all no-brainers. That defined boosting a contract value with funny money.
