  1. Ray Lucas is easier to take in this larger group when he has less opportunity to hang himself with his own idiocy and lack of humility

Lucas is right though, Sanchez played aweful and even just a decent defense would have had nunerous picks. We won and thats important, but I am not convinced we will go far with all these issues. I look at it as we got a win and bought some time to fix these problems, but lets face it, this team doesnt look like a team that will make noise even if we squeak in. I am just hoping things come together but if they couldnt against the bills, what happens with the better teams that we play. The bills were outscored by an average of almost 30 points their last few games, were missing their top offensive player, a starting center, NT, CB and some others. Anyway, we got the win and lets see if we can look better next week as that will be a much tougher game, just based on the pressure that the skins can bring. Mark had time against the bills and still looked out of sync.

4 touchdowns, yea what a bad player

      • avatar joeyboy79 says:

He had a 50% completion rate that game, looked well out of sync as his passes were in the dirt and no where near his receivers, and it was against the hapless bills who were were decimated with injuries on top of being outscored by 30 points their last few games. We all love the jets and Mark but can you look in the mirror after yesterdays game and say we look like a real play off team ? I cant. I am just saying things have to improve big time before I believe we have a real shot. Even just a decent team yesterday would have had an easy time with us the way we played yesterday. We were lucky it was the bills. Now we have to fix these issues fast!

        • avatar Private Jet says:

Actually, it’s LESS than 50% completion rate. I’d be surprised if they win 3 more games this season if he keeps playing like yesterday.

i don’t care what you say about the game. he set a high with 4 tds, led a game winning drive. perhaps you all want him to walk on water like tebow then you’ll support your QB. i’m so over all the sanchez hating. wait till he wins the big one and all of you call him the next joe namath. come on now show some damn support. he has taken a pounding in games and a poundiong by jets fans all season. brick is having his worst year ever and i don’t se anyone talking about gettin a new LT? that make sense? i think not

        • stats are going to drive you crazy have you seen Tebows stats he is 5-1

These guys are getting more and more difficult to watch–just unrelenting, and unfair, criticism of everything Sanchez and almost everything Jets.
So they break away from their Sanchez-bashing for Rex’s postgame comments. And Rex says Cromartie was back there to return the punt because Leonhard had hit the tight end on the previous play and couldn’t catch his breath. Now back to the panel. And Schein, without pausing for a moment to digest that news, bashes Westoff for putting Cromartie back there, as if Schein was out getting a hot dog, rather than listening, when Rex explained why Cromartie was back there. Just bash and bash, whether the facts support you or not.

Did Sanchez play great….no. Is he a winner….YES.

The guy has road playoff wins against Brady, Rivers, Palmer, and Manning. In all of those games he made crucial plays.

I think the fan base should get behind the guy. He has talent and does not choke at the end of the game. Ray Lucas career was slightly more accomplished than mine.

  5. God knows Sanchez is not above criticism and he certainly had a terrible first half yesterday. And again – in this clip Ray Lucas is fairly restrained.

But generally speaking he is overly critical of Sanchez and really the offense in general. It’s just over the top. He has the head shaking condescending attitude as if he was some major figure in the NFL when he was a special Parcells project that panned out – sort of – for one season.

And as I mentioned, he’s just wrong a lot of the time. Like last week when he said the Jets D had been on the field too long vs Denver, for instance. And of course he says it with his typical lack of humility.

Ray Lucas and Every hate can talk garbage about the win and yet the only thing that mayters is the win.People the Jets played game like this last season against the lions, browns, steelers. They are not going to blow anyone out they just have to make plays when it counts sanchez has shown over&over again he can comeback better than most. Now schotty needs to be better 2&long he makes throw a sholve pass, when the jets came out of the half on there first position in the third sanchez threw three straight passes, He hit all three passes on the money and the receivers hand it in their hands and dropped them plax made some nice catches but also dropped a few and no one blamed him because he made a great catch.Meanwhile sanchez made a great read on a broken play and won the game. Why isnt anyone giving him credit? Ps Eric smith cant cover nobody the coach should always take him out on pass plays

Its how you win b/c lucky breaks will not last on a real run, you have to have the consistency and convincing to be TOP dog. I will take a team who plays solid and consistent over a team that just squeaks them out b/c in a long playoff season, luck runs out with those teams, a solid and well oiled team has the odds in their favor. A win is a win in the standings but there is a much bigger picture to it that shows how good and how far you will really go.

  7. avatar Orange Klecko says:

Hey Klecko – Lay off the Fake tan and get off Revis while your at it. Yeah you were a great one… You and Ray Lucas. STFU.

  8. avatar joeyboy79 says:

Ray Lucas and MANY analysts feel that the jets are playing way below their level and they are! I dont care that the jets can come back at the end of games, the real winners who go FAR play a solid 60 minutes in all 3 phases and its that simple. The jets are much too inconsistent to be a real playoff threat. Yeah, I hope it call comes together but it is what it is now and people will call it that way, as that is their job.We cant be too touchy as fans. The criticism will stop when we play like a playoff team consistently for 60 minutes in all phases of the game. We are far off from that now. Hopefully it will change as we do have the talent.

    • avatar OldGuyJetFan says:

Anyone looking at this game in an unbiased way can see that Mark Sanchez is inconsistent in his passing accuracy , inconsistent in his ability to read defenses and gets rattled in the pocket. He threw UNDER 50% yesterday against 0 pressure and would have been well under 50% had he not had some great catches. Is he a winner? Sure but not because of him and in some cases inspite of him. We win when we get great D andgood running, but as a QB this guys a scatterarm and sometimes a scatterbrain. But he’s all we have so go J-E-T-S

  9. avatar joeyboy79 says:

I really tried rationalizing that b/c of the fierce pressure he was getting with an inconsistent oline, he will be a very good qb when the line solidifies, but you brought up a very good point that yesterday he had alot of time and our oline was solid, but I may add, due to a weak bills pash rush. The only thing that I can think of is what I said earlier in the season when he was getting abused and pounded, is that he now has some mental scars that he has to shake off. He is tentative at times and other times rushes. That is a clear sign. This will have a trickle effect on other areas like reads, mechanics ect. He was making nice strides at the end of last year when the training wheels were gradually coming off, but when the wheels fell off our oline early this season and he was hurt in almost every game, this seems to be the reason. He has to get his confidence and trust back but it all starts with a solid oline who can defend against other teams not just the bills as we have the eagles, skins, giants and even the chiefs who have a much better D than the watered down bills. I fault management for not addressing the oline in the offseason and even early in the start of the season. It befuddles me how they can say success is on Sanchez but not provide him with the essential resources to achieve those objectives.

If Eli Manning had put on the same performance as Sanchez did yesrterday, he would be called “elite” for his 4 TD passes and his game-winning drive. And Eli still sometimes makes awful decisions and awful throws, even in his eighth year in the NFL.

  11. I dont understand, Sanchez didnt play that bad yesterday. He had a couple bad throws but watch a full game of any QB that isnt Aaron Rodgers or Peyton Manning and youll see them throw a bad pass or two.
Our main problem yesterday was turnovers and our defense in the red zone.

  12. avatar david i says:

I used to tape the SNY post game show every week…however, now that Klecko is a full timer, I actually stopped watching it…he’s unbearably bad. He may have been a great player and my patient with him may have been too short, but he was so bad, I had to stop watching the show.

  13. avatar TimInNJ says:

Hey, remember when Aaron Rodgers played the Jets last season? He completed 14 of 34 passes for a 44% completion percentage. Who won that game? Oh yeah, the Packers. Who won the Super Bowl? Oh yeah, the same guy who completed 44% of his passes. Sure the Bills are not the Jets defense, but they played well yesterday. People talk about Aaron Rodgers like a god, but it’s not as if he is without blemish. Sanchez completed 75% of his passes on the final drive, and also threw the 4 TD passes. Haters need to stop hating and support their team.
