For those who do not want Manning, even Dallas, Houston, and SF are looking into getting Manning. And they have better QBs. I don’t understand why Dallas would dump Romo.

For all those deriding the need to simplify things for Mark, please check out the link re: Brady’s armband.

If a future HOFer feels the need to remind himself of basic things that many of us would feel are obvious, Mark should have no hesitation in following suit.

A blurb from the Senior Bowl article:

“South Carolina’s Melvin Ingram could be the answer. At 6’2″, 276 pounds, he’s extremely athletic and cannot be blocked. He has beaten everybody here in Mobile, and believe us, the coaches have been looking hard all week for the guy he can’t beat. Some compare him to Dwight Freeney, but he’s much better-suited to be a standup, pass-rushing OLB in a 3-4. Think James Harrison with better cover skills.”

James Harrison with better cover skills?! Yes, please.

Just to piggie back a little bit:
“Alabama OLB Courtney Upshaw is another big outside pass-rushing threat who would immediately upgrade the Jets’ defense. This is a guy who might single-handedly be able to allow the Jets NOT to blitz. He’s explosive, and along with Ingram he’s a sure first-round talent.”
Just to be clear: I think either guy would be a great #1 pick.

What site are you guys pulling these reports from? GGN?

        • avatar boogie down says:

It’s the 4th link from the top. Personally, I’d prefer to stay away from Upshaw as he looks slow and, based on his height and weight, has probably maxed out physically, so he won’t get any faster.

I’d be more than happy to get your guy Mercilus, Brendan, so long as we can trade back 5-7 spots (which is where mocks have him going)and pick up an additional 2nd or 3rd.

        Also from the site:
“Whitney Mercilus was seen throwing footballs into a dumpster nearby. When asked to comment on his pass-rushing ablilties Whitney prompty defecated into his hands and rubbed it into his hair.”
        True story.

He’s a junior, and therefore ineligible for the SENIOR bowl.

I realize you’re joking, but people will eventually start bugging me about why Mercilus isn’t getting any buzz from the Senior bowl.
