A few videos from NFL.com:
- How the Dolphins might keep the Jets out of the playoffs
- Placing the blame for the Jets’ disappointing 2011
- How safe is Mark Sanchez?
In this link, Mark Sanchez chats with Melissa Stark of NFL.com about his season, the fans, and his future.
Ernie Palladino of CBS New York explains why the Jets have every opportunity to take their season back:
[The] Jets walk into Ralph Wilson Stadium next week with a perfect opportunity to pull into a tie with the Bills for second, while the Giants tend to some businessof their own.
And here’s the ironic trivia for that week: When does a Jets fan become a Giants fan? When the Giants are playing the Pats.
If the Giants take care of business at Gillette Stadium and knock the Pats to 6-2 — New England faces a soft 4-2 Pittsburgh this week — the Jets will host Bill Belichick’s squad Nov. 13 with an opportunity to pull into a first-place tie.
The Giants beating the Patriots is tricky…but what’s sport without hope?
Hopefully this will draw more eyes onto the field and away from smartphones.
Tagged Met Life Stadium |Some brief stories from around the internet:
Jets already beating the Patriots! (in ticket prices) – I’m not sure what this metric really means, other than that the Jets are in a wealthy market and are increasing in popularity, but this year, the average Jets ticket price rose 5.4% to $120.85 , beating the Patriots average of $117.84, which has remained steady for two years.
Also, according to this article, the NFL has undergone a realignment and the Jets and Patriots now play in the AFC North. I don’t usually call out these kind of things, especially when I’ve made a few mental errors and typos on this blog, but that’s a pretty hilarious mistake, so I don’t feel too bad making fun of it.
Sanchez selling T-shirts for 9/11 charity – Earlier this week, Mark Sanchez put his name behind a line of FDNY-themed commemorative 9/11 shirts. The proceeds will go to support the families of first responders and rescue workers who were lost that day, a very worthy cause.
Jets on their Mark, set to go Bowling – When I first put this article on my list of potential links, I thought it was about how the Jets (and Mark Sanchez) are so ready to play on Sunday that they all went bowling and had a fun time together last night. Instead, it’s an article about how the Jets are pinning their hopes on Mark Sanchez to lead them to the Super Bowl, but written with a very confusing pun in its headline. Despite that nitpick, it’s very interesting, includes some good quotes from Mason, Slauson, Smith, and Johnson, and is definitely worth a click.
The link is interesting, and Rex has some things to say about Revis that the Why Guys didn’t pull:
Tagged darelle revis, Rex Ryan |“Every day he hits that field and (says), ‘You know, I’m going to compete every single day,’” Jets coach Rex Ryan said. “That’s why he is the Tom Brady and Peyton Manning of defensive backs in this league. He’s the best I’ve ever been around.”
There are a lot of Jets fans concerned about the production of newly added Plaxico Burress. Twisted ankles aside, I was one worried Jets fan. This video made me sleep a little easier at night…. What, your sleep isn’t interrupted by the production questions surrounding newly added Jets players??
A few weeks after Plax was released from prison he approached the Sports Science crew and asked to be put to the test. He showed up alone and ready to go. According to host John Brenkus, Plax’s jumping and core abilities actually increased over the two years he was away from the game. This, in large part to Burress’s focus on working out his legs and core muscles while incarcerated; muscle groups largely ignored while he was active.
Its a fascinating video to watch, you can see the whole thing HERE.

I like this signing a lot Smitty has easily been one of my favorite Jets. The parameters of the agreement are still unclear. It will be interersting to see if the Jets now pursue Brodney Pool.

Gee … you think??? Ugh …
Darrelle Revis’s manager, John Geiger talked to Seven Questions, answering about his life, his goals, and some funny stuff too.
If you care to read about the resuming talks in New York today … knock yourself out.
No … literally.
Longtime Jets fan and Seinfeld & Curb Your Enthusiasm creator Larry David talks about Rex, Zone Defenses, Kinna Hurra (Ken Ayin Hara), and much more with Rich Eisen.
