Jets Left Tackle D'Brickashaw Ferguson talks about a mischievous fellow lineman, his work for Gatorade, enjoying the draft and much more.
Our thanks to the good people of Gatorade and at the G Series Mobile Locker initiative.

ESPN’s AFC East blogger Tim Graham held his weekly mailbag on his divisional blog and needless to say there were a few mentions of the Green and White. However, the most interesting bit to me had to do with a former coach.
I kept an open mind about the Spygate saga as it developed, but I’ve spoken to more than enough intelligent football people about it. I’m convinced the benefits of the verboten video were overblown.
ESPN analyst Herm Edwards is one of the discerning minds I’ve asked about it. Edwards, then the New York Jets’ head coach, was so unimpressed he was captured waving to the Patriots’ camera in one of the illegal tapes from 2004.
“If you’re naïve to believe that helped him win a Super Bowl,” Edwards said last week, “you’re kidding yourself. I don’t believe that.”
To hear what Graham had to say about the Jets’ WR dilemma follow after the jump…
Okay Jets fans, I’m sounding the war horns, ringing the bell, and painting my face like Braveheart himself. In a call to all loyal readers of TJB, it appears that we are not well-represented in ESPN’s AFC East Chats.
happy bills fan: is it me or is there any jets fans on this thing ever?
Tim Graham: They’re scarce every week. Even when the Jets were winning last year.
I know I’ve seen some of the Friday chats around this place, and it can get quite hectic. It’s time to bring it to the WWL. I’m puling a reverse-Cowherd and using the strength of this site’s tremendous fans and readers to invade these chats. Every Friday at 3 p.m.! All you have to do is go to the AFC East Blog or SportsNation on Fridays for the link. C’mon, we can’t let Bills fans run us, can we? They couldn’t even win a Super Bowl.
Erik Boland of New York Newsday takes the time to preview the big Jets – Titans matchup.
Be sure to check out Erik's great work on Newsday's site and on his
blog!

As a special exclusive to thepatsblog, Pats inside linebacker Tedy Bruschi shares some of his favorite movies
- Beaches – What can I say? Tom is the wind beneath our wings . . .
- The Care Bear Movie – See, they’re BEARS! But they care, too.
- Steel Magnolias – See, they’re MAGNOLIAS! But they are steel, too (like a man’s supposed to be). No, seriously, on a Monday after a loss, I like to pop this into the DVD player and watch it so I’ll be all misty when I show up for practice and coach won’t think I didn’t care and then threaten to make me run until my left arm goes numb and everything goes all sparkly again.
- Top Gun – I can watch that volleyball scene all day long! Those guys are so . . . intense.

(Goose and Mav are excited to make Tedy’s list)
- The Comeback Kid – Not only did it have Kim “Tootie” Fields, Susan Dey (Laurie Partridge), Patrick Swayze AND John Ritter, but it also had Michael Lembeck. Michael Lembeck! You know, Landon Tarmac from “The Famous Teddy Z” — and how many movies with a main character named Teddy can you find? Exactly.
- The Birdcage – Men in dresses — come on, that’s funny stuff. And a nicely nuanced performance by Nathan Lane. Not that there’s anything wrong with it.
- Gus – Still one of the finest sports documentaries about football ever made.
- The Water Boy – People often say that I remind them of Bobby Boucher, except I’m not quite as erudite, whatever that means. We both love our mamas, though.
Cap tip to zenlaw who sent these questions on from an ESPN SportsNation Chat. To read them all, check them out after the jump. Zenlaw and I agree that the best question is the last one, and I swear it wasn’t me that asked, I wouldn’t have been that creative.
Deez (Nutz): Jets/Pats Any thoughts?
SportsNation Matt Williamson: I haven’t said many good things about the Jets’ chances all year and I am going to stick to my guns. New Eng will handle them and control this game with their rushing attack. I have no faith in the Jets’ D. Also, I think New Eng’s DL will dominate the trenches on that side of the ball as well.
Commenter Aaron found this ESPN podcast of Bob Wichusen and Marty Lyons filling in for Stephen A. talking about the Jets yesterday, definitely worth the time and the listen.
Well, it looks like young Stephen Belichick was caught by some Hot Cops in a Waltham, MA parking lot with some weed. No word yet on whether young Stephen was going to “smoke the marijuana like a cigarette” or he was just buying it for his Uncle Buster’s 60 year old girlfriend who happens to suffer from vertigo. (It’s an Arrested Development thing…)
I can’t be sure if this is him, but this might be him near the bottom of this page. A long-haired lacrosse player who smokes weed … will wonders never cease? I just might go into shock if I hear he likes Phish.
Had some errors with setting up the Mangini interview. Check the next post up the page. But check out the Monday Coffee with the Coach to hear what Belichick said to WEEI in Boston on Monday.
Mr. Coleman has added another diary entry to the Jets' site.
Erik is headed home to Spokane, Washington to see his old college team,
high school team, friends and family, and even got a new video iPod…
lucky dog…
…with the way curtis martin has rushed this season, is it wise to send
him out at under 100 percent against a top-rated defense like the
jaguars…
…i think i am a bit worried…
…be the ball, chad…be the ball…
